Although many people may not need to use social care, it is good to know that there is that safety net to protect and improve the lives of the most vulnerable in our communities. Our Early Help team is there to provide support to a child or family when problems emerge. If a child needs to be looked after our Children’s safeguarding team, rated as good by Ofsted, are able to provide a range of support to help protect and keep children from harm. Our social care teams are also there for those who experience life changing accidents or illness, which may require specialist care or support, adapted housing or supported living. Our population profile has an above average older population, many who wish to remain independent for as long as possible. Our adult social care team and service providers support people to live in their own home, to transfer quickly and safely from hospital with appropriate care and to move into residential or nursing care when the need arises.
